Lone Wolf Reasturant and Catering hosted the Chamber Coffee as Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System was sponsor on Nov. 14. Richard Shank from the healthcare system delivered some remarks including the following statement.  
“First, I want to compliment Ellinwood for their excellent healthcare facilities, you are a model for cities of your size in the state”.  Shank went on by saying, “We have a special relationship with your healthcare facility as a number of patients from the Ellinwood area are referred to Hutchinson on medical issues including heart, lung and cancer.
Shank shared some on the cardiovascular services at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Dr. Robert Fleming, who grew up on a farm near Kanopolis, performs open heart surgery without stopping the beating heart. Only 20 percent of the cardiovascular surgeons in the nation are qualified to perform this procedure. His services are being sought from patients throughout the state.
Dr. Mike Hagley is also a respected member of Regional’s team. Recently, a procedure to remove plaque from leg arteries was approved by the Food and Drug Administration on a Friday and five days later, Dr. Hagley became the fifth surgeon in the nation to utilize this new application.
