ELLINWOOD — It’s National Library Week! If you see Julie Blakeslee, Treva Paden, Karie Gibson, Kay Linden, Amy Hammeke, or Melody Johnston, thank them for all that they do.

It is also School Library Month. Please head to our Ellinwood Library Facebook page and post pictures of your child reading. We miss them and would love to see them.

Remember that this is the year of the census. Ellinwood currently has about a 52% response rate. It is important to complete the U.S. Census, because it helps our community with planning and funding for emergency services, health care, road construction, education, community development, and so much more.

Our library and H&B Communications are current hotspots that you would be able to connect to the online Census questionnaire. The Census website is https://my2020census.gov/. The voucher number to connect to the internet is posted on the library door.

Dolly Parton will be sharing a book from her Imagination Library, every Thursday through the first week of June. Tune in online at https://imaginationlibrary.com/at 7 p.m. to listen to her story. We thank Dolly for all of the books she has sent to the children of our community. If you have a little one under the age of 5, and your zip code is 67526, email Sheri at sholmes@usd355.org and we will get your child started with free books.

As you are cleaning up this Spring, if you happen to find a library book, please return it to the Ellinwood School/Community Library dropbox. NO FINES!!!
