Ellinwood sewer project on County Commission agenda

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the former JC Penney building, 1500 Kansas in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:

• A memorandum of understanding between Barton County and Great Bend Economic Development Inc. in regards to a water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer infrastructure project in Ellinwood.

• A conditional land use permit for VB BTS II LLC by Network Connex for a communications tower at 673 B N. U.S. 281.

• An update to the county employee handbook.

Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:

•  9:45 a.m. – renewal of voice recording system maintenance contract with Dena Popp, 911 director, and Casey Hubbard, office manager for the County Attorney’s Office.

• 10 a.m. – grant opportunity for the County Clerk’s with Bev Schmeidler, county clerk.

• 10:30 a.m. – regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, county administrator.
