The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.
It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:
• Financial assistance for waste water improvements for the City of Ellinwood.
• Infrastructure improvement assistance for Rural Water District 1.
• The Sunflower Diversified Services glass recycling project.
• A Facade Improvement Project grant deadline extension.
Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:
• 9:45 a.m. – program update with Barry McManaman, county engineer.
• 10 a.m. – budget hearing and agenda meeting with Fire District No. 1.
• 10:15 a.m. or following the close of the Fire District meeting – grant updates with Amy Boxberger, Central Kansas Community Corrections director, and Marissa Woodmansee, Juvenile Services director.
• 10:30 a.m. – audit review with Melissa Ille, AdamsBrown.
• 11:15 a.m. – program update with Karen Winkelman, health director, and Kori Hammeke, child care licensing.
• 11:30 a.m. – regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, director of operations.
• 1:30 p.m. – The commission will tour a building located at 18th and Main, Great Bend. The commission is looking for a building to use as a temporary home for county offices when the Courthouse HVAC system is being replaced.
