Interest in “The World According to Humphrey” and the One District, One Book program set to roll out on Sept. 25 continues to pick up speed and the committee working on it has grown to 38 members.

The book was selected last spring and volunteers have worked all summer getting everything ready for the launch.

Books in English and Spanish have arrived, correspondence with the author has been established, lessons by art and music teachers have been planned and posters, pins, book plates and magnets have designed and completed.

Additionally, several communitywide events including Nocturnal Night at the Great Bend Public Library, a Fury Friends Fun Drive for the Golden Belt Humane Society and a cornfield maze hosted by Roger Long have all been planned by Dayna Ball, Great Bend Public Library childen’s librarian.
