Fatal crash in Ness County

Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday in Ness County, 6 miles east of Ness City on K-96 and 8 miles north on Z Road.
A 2017 Ford F-150 driven by Shirley K. Weeks, 64, from Brownell was eastbound on 210 Road. A 2014 Dodge 3500 driven by Timothy Turner, 38, of Ness City was northbound on Z Road and struck the Ford in the intersection. Both vehicles continued northeast into the ditch and then into the field, going through a barbed wire fence.
Weeks was taken to Ness County Hospital but she died as a result of the crash. KHP reports she had been wearing a seat belt.
Turner was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital with possible injury. He was not wearing a safety restraint.
