There were two fires in Great Bend early Tuesday morning.
At 2:59 a.m. a fire was reported at the Barton Community College dorms. The fire started in the hallway ceiling and the cause is still under investigation due to students needing to be interviewed, but are out of town for the holidays. There were six people displaced due to the fire. There were no injuries.
Another fire was reported at 4:39 a.m. at Little Giant Fabrication located at 11 NE 50 Ave. The fire started in the manufacturing department and the cause is undetermined. There was extensive damage to the building and no injuries were reported.
Both fires were investigated by the Kansas Fire Marshal, Great Bend Fire Department and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
