Fleeing motorist crashes in Russell County
1-Tribune

A motorist fleeing law enforcement was seriously injured in a crash Thursday morning, Ellsworth County Sheriff Murray A. Marston reports.
Timothy Galliart, 47, of Salina was transported by helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
The pursuit began when an Ellsworth County deputy was investigating a 1995 Buick Park Avenue parked near 1st Road and Avenue K around 9:12 a.m.
“As the deputy approached the vehicle, it left at a high rate of speed and crossed into Russell County,” Marston said. “The deputy followed the vehicle which then stopped on Stickney Road and 204th Road in Russell County. As the deputy approached the vehicle it took off again, ran off the right side of the road and overturned.”
Ellsworth County units were assisted by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Highway Patrol and Russell County Emergency Medical Services.
Highway Patrol reports Galliart was wearing a seat belt. The car crashed as he attempted to turn into a field entrance. It struck the entrance and rolled several times.
