A hands on food preservation workshop has a few openings remaining according to Donna Krug, Barton County Family and Consumer Science Agent. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 1, at Great Bend High School. Participants are asked to pre-register by July 25, by calling Krug at 793-1910. The $10 fee will cover the cost of supplies plus a light lunch. Karen Blakeslee, director of the K-State Research and Extension Rapid Response Center, will lead the workshop.
