Friends of Library book sale offers ‘Early Bird’ shopping
bookSale2021
Lorita Berens begins unpacking books in preparation for this year’s Friends of the Library book sale. It opens Friday to members and those who make an “early bird” donation. Admission is free to everyone starting Saturday. The sale continues through Monday.

The Friends of the Library book sale is back. The pandemic shut down the book sale last year and so the Friends are eager to return with an extra amount of books accumulated from the past two years, member Mary Ann June said.

This year’s sale begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 16, in the Lower Level Meeting Room, and continues until 5 p.m. After 2 p.m. Saturday (when the library closes), patrons should enter the building via the north door.

Sunday hours are 1-5 p.m. for half-price day. Monday is donation day from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Friends Only preview sale is Friday, October 15, from 6-8 p.m. Use the north-side entrance to the library. It is possible to join the Friends that night; the cost is $10 per year or $20 per family. This year, the Friends are offering an Early Bird Special of $5 to attend the Friends Only Sale. This is an option for those who would rather not join and still want to attend the book sale on Friday.

All of the income from the book sale directly supports the Great Bend Public Library.
