A dinner and dance will be held as a fundraiser for 6-month-old Ava VonFeldt, daughter of Dalton VonFeldt and Kenda Smith. Kenda works at Central Kansas Family Practice, and Dalton is a student at Kansas State University.
Ava was born with a ventricular septal defect – sometimes referred to as a hole in the heart. It is a type of congenital heart defect in which there is an abnormal opening in the dividing wall between the main pumping chambers of the heart.
She will undergo surgery to correct this on April 9 at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City.
The fundraising event starts 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, and continues to midnight, at the Lone Wolf Restaurant, 111 East First St., Ellinwood. Live music will be provided by Sunset Limited. There will also be a silent auction.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Ava VonFeldt Expense Fund to help her family during this tough time.
Tickets are $15 for adults ($20 at the door) and $5 for children 12 years and under ($10 at the door).
Donations can also be made to the Ava VonFeldt Expense Fund at the Credit Union of America, 4708 10th St., Great Bend.
