A Great Bend man remains hospitalized in Wichita following a one-vehicle accident involving his motorcycle early Sunday morning, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Jeffrey R. Allison, 27, received injuries to his left foot, leg and hand. He was transported directly to the Great Bend Municipal Airport by Great Bend Emergency Medical Services and flown to Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita where he was listed in good condition Monday evening.
According to the BCSO report, Allision was traveling north in the 400 block of North Washington “at a high rate of speed” at 1:45 a.m. He attempted to slow down at the T-intersection at NE 50 Road, but went through the intersection and off the north side of the roadway.
Allison flipped his 2006 Kawasaki one time before coming to a rest. He was trapped under the motorcycle, but was helped by a passerby. He was wearing a helmet.
