Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice will sponsor a Monday evening grief support group in Great Bend from May 14 through July 16.  It will meet each Monday (except Memorial Day) from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Medical Building at 3520 Lakin Ave. This building is just south of St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center and the entrance is on Lincoln Street.
Hospice Chaplain John Grummon and GBHH&H Social Worker Cathy Soeken will co-facilitate the support group. “Group members will provide support and healing for one another with the guidance of qualified facilitators,” Grummon said. “This group setting is a safe place to share memories, while doing the important work of mourning and learning new ways to approach problems.”
All discussions are confidential, Soeken added. “Participants can feel comfortable sharing their feelings, thoughts and experiences,” she said. “Sharing photos, poetry or other mementos is welcome and encouraged. This is a good way to interact with other group members and it gives them the opportunity to know more about the loved ones being mourned.”
Anyone interested in attending the grief support group may contact Grummon for further details by calling 620-792-8171.
