GBHS Debate places fourth The Great Bend High School Debate Team competed in their first tournament of the season on Saturday at Halstead High School. There were 70 teams from 21 schools. In the novice division Tatyana Badue and Bayle Sandy placed 4th overall with a 4-1 win-loss record. Sandy said, With this being my first tournament I was very nervous at the beginning; although, it turned out to be a great experience! I think hosting a tournament first really helped me not be so nervous, but it was fun and everyone did well, said Tatyana Badue Great Bend did host on the first weekend of the debate season Sept. 17th. We really appreciate all of the members of the community that judged for us to help make our tournament a success. Our season has started off very strong and we are excited for the rest of the season, stated GBHS coach Barbara Watson.
