On Saturday, Oct. 8th the Great Bend High School Debate team traveled to Hays for the Hays Arrowhead Invitational Debate Tournament.
In Open Varsity Division, second year junior Sylvia Ofoma and first year freshman Paige Vansteenburgh finished with a 3-2 win-loss record placing 7th. Second year sophomore Courtney Seever and Nathan Stoulil finished with a 2-3 win-loss record. Seever also placed 6th in individual speaking awards out of 46 other debaters.
When asked about the tournament Seever commented, “it was a good day and we improved greatly”.
Spencer Johnson, Christopher Snow, and Karry Garcia finished with a 1-4 win-loss record in Novice Division.
