It’s hard to believe it’s that time, but Great Bend High School freshmen band members, drum majors and section leaders will meet Monday, Aug. 1 to 3, in the GBHS Band Room from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Freshmen and Varsity members will also meet on Aug. 4, 5 and 8, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. The Aug. 9, rehearsal will be in the morning only. Drum majors and section leaders will congregate at 7:30 a.m., with freshmen needing to check out a school instrument meet at the high school at 7:45 a.m.

Everyone will also meet at 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 15, to perform for the USD 428 Opening Ceremony. Band members will be done by 8:30 a.m.

Rehearsals are mandatory for all band students who wish to travel with the band to the Labor Day Parade, KSU Band Day, and the Kansas State Fair. Uniform check out will take place during the camp times.
Jazz Band members will have practices on Aug. 9 and 10, from 1 to 2:15 p.m. to prepare for the high school Open House, and other fall activities.
