The Great Bend High School Forensics team traveled to the Kingman Invitational Forensics tournament on Jan. 26th. Four members competed in two events in the first tournament of the season, which consisted of (freshman) Clara Kachanes, (sophomore) Sarah Keller, (senior) Chase Pumford, and (sophomore) Kameko Schultz. All three students that competed in Humorous Solo Acting, qualified to finals. Placing 1st was Chase Pumford, placing 5th was Sarah Keller, and placing 6th was Kameko Schultz. Pumford qualified to State Championship in this event with straight one’s throughout the day and also perfect quality points in finals. He also competed in Prose and placed 6th as well. Schultz competed in Informative and placed 2nd, which qualified her to State Championship also. The Great Bend High School Forensics team came home with five medals and two students that are already qualified for State Championship Tournament at their first tournament out. The team plans to go to two Forensics Tournaments next weekend.
