GBHS students place at Math Relays

Fourteen GBHS scholars participated in the 32nd annual Fort Hays State University Math Relays. Approximately 542 participants from 44 schools competed at this annual event. GBHS placed 5th overall out of ten teams in the 4 – 6A school category.
Individually, several students from GBHS earned top honors in their respective events. In Using Number Sense, Colton Lagerman, freshman, placed 4th while Logan Zecha, freshman, took 5th place. Tristan Yount, sophomore, and Luke Abbott, junior, both placed 3rd in Algebraic Manipulations in their respective age groups. In Informal Geometry and Measurement, Colton Lagerman placed 4th overall in the 9th grade age group while Tristan Yount placed 7th in the 10th grade group. Applications of Algebra and Arithmetic had Colton Lagerman placing 5th, Logan Zecha placing 9th and Greg Burley placing 10th all in the 9th grade age group.
GBHS also had several students that placed in the overall team standings by grade level. The 9th grade team of Colton Lagerman, Greg Burley and Logan Zecha placed 1st in the event Calculations with Calculators. The 10th grade team of Kelli Kirmer, Mitch Johnson and Tristan Yount, placed 5th In Applications of Algebra and Arithmetic and 1st in Using Number Sense.  At the 12th grade level, the team of Cody Behrends, Austin Morgan and Danen Levingston placed 5th in Applicatons of Algebra and Arithmetic. Cody Behrends, Austin Morgan and Michaela Stevenson, junior placed 4th in Informal Geometry and Measurement. The team of Cody Behrends, Danen Levingston, and Brandi Schneider, junior placed 3rd in Algebraic Manipulations.
