The Great Bend Police Department has released more information on the search warrants and arrests last week following a series of burglaries.
On Friday, July 26, the Great Bend Police Department was made aware that numerous items had been stolen from residential garages and vehicles during the early morning hours. During the ensuing investigation, three juvenile suspects were identified. Detectives with the GBPD served two search warrants in reference to the location of stolen property. As a result, numerous property items were seized as evidence and secured at the Great Bend Police Department.
“Detectives confirmed the theft of the items occurred at different locations including unoccupied vehicles and attached garage areas,” the news release states. “Three suspects were subsequently arrested. Several items the detectives collected have been processed and released to their appropriate owners. The Police Department believes that other vehicles were targeted and that the vehicle owners may not be aware that they had items stolen from them. Several items known to have been stolen are still in our custody as we attempt to identify the owners.”
Photos of several of those items were included. Pictured are a backpack and several pairs of sunglasses.
“The Great Bend Police Department is requesting that anyone who may have not reported a theft that occurred last week contact our patrol division and allow the detectives to determine if items they seized belong to you.”
This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information in reference to this case or any other case is urged to contact the Great Bend Police Department at 620-793-4120 or Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300 or online at p3tips.com.
