The Suicide Prevention Task Force of Central Kansas Partnership is holding a Remembrance Ceremony in conjunction with the Golden Belt Glow for Life Walk and competitive 5 K Run at 7 p.m. Saturday at Vets Park in Great Bend.
This event is in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day. The public is invited to attend the Remembrance Ceremony that will be held at the west shelter next to the lake. Community members who would like to recognize the memory of someone are encouraged to attend.
Late registration for the Glow for Life Walk and 5 K Run, and check-in for registered participants, will begin at 6 p.m., the Remembrance Ceremony at 7 p.m., and they will be followed by a warm-up, and the Glow Walk & Run at sunset.
National Suicide Prevention Week is September 7-13 and World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10.
Proceeds from Glow for Life events will help to provide Suicide Prevention education in our community.
