Three local children opted to receive donations to the Golden Belt Humane Society in lieu of birthday presents and each recently had their birthday parties. They included: Sahara Rziha - third Grader at Holy Family School, parents are Gary and Shanon Rziha of Great Bend; Ian Jennings - third Grader at Holy Family School, parents are Michael and Andrea Jennings of Great Bend; and Karson Kern - second Grader at Holy Family School, parents are Reggie and Meagan Kern of Great Bend.
