Golden Plains Quilts of Valor, June 2023
Derry Dougan
United States Navy veteran Petty Officer Third Class Derry Dougan was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on June 30, 2023, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Dougan served from 1966 to 1969. The quilt top was made by Mary Lou Weiser; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor. Golden Plains Quilts of Valor awarded three quilts to veterans on June 30.  Two recipients agreed to share their photos and information with the Great Bend Tribune:


Derry Dougan

United States Marine Corps veteran Corporal Gary Rebel was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on June 30, 2023, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend.
