Jim Gordee has announced his write-in candidacy for Ward 4 of the Great Bend City Council.
“I have lived in Great Bend with my wife Anita for the past 24 years, and look forward to the possibility of serving this community on the city council. I believe the Fourth Ward needs a competent, proven person with good decision-making skills to serve our city. The opportunity for me to help our community grow and be a viable, safe place for our children and grandchildren is something I would be proud to be a part of,” Gordee stated.
“Anita and I have five children, Tracy Curtright, Chris Curtright, Cindy Curtright Zecha, Holly Gordee Boldenow, Scott Gordee, along with five grandchildren.
Gordee was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated with an Associate Degree from Beloit Vo-Tech and has been employed in the construction trade industry for over 40 years. He is a member of the American Legion, has served on the Rozel School District Board, and has served as trustee on his church board. Anita and Jim attend CrossPoint Church, and together they operate and manage a small property management company.
“I would appreciate your write-in vote for Fourth Ward City Council,” Gordee said. “I will work hard to represent the people in my ward by listening to needs and concerns and applying sound judgment to my votes. I can be reached at 620-617-2520.”
