Great Bend Middle School Band concerts

The Great Bend Middle School Band Department will be presenting three programs during the week of Feb. 25th. At 7 p.m. on Monday Feb. 25, the 7th grade band members will be performing a variety of solos and group instrumental ensembles. On the same date, at 8 p.m ., 8th grade band students will perform their solos and group ensembles. Both performances will be in the Music Room at Great Bend Middle School. The public is invited to attend.
On the evening of February 26, starting at 6:45 p.m. the 7th grade band and the GBMS Jazz Ensemble will present a concert in the middle school gym. At 8:15 p.m., the 8th grade band and the Jazz Ensemble will present their concert in the gym as well. Both of these concerts are open to the public. These concerts will feature a variety of musical selections in addition to the band contest pieces.
On Wednesday February, 27 the 7th grade and 8th grade bands will have their GBMS In-House Contest. These performances will be held at the middle school gym. The 7thh grade band will perform their contest selections at 11:45 a.m. and the 8th grade band will perform at 12:45 p.m. The contest performances are open to the public. The contest judge/clinician will be Robert Bitter from Pratt. He will rate the bands and give them a clinic as well. The bands are directed by Kurtis Koch assisted by Mark DeWald from Great Bend High School.
