HAYS – Three Great Bend students are among the 32 graduating seniors nominated for the 2020 Torch Award, the highest student honor awarded by Fort Hays State University’s Alumni Association. 

The Torch Award, created in 1974, is presented every year at spring Commencement. 

Torch candidates are nominated by members of the faculty on the basis of classroom excellence, participation in professional organizations and involvement in student, civic or research activities. 

Local Torch Award nominees are: Kaylie Doll, a medical diagnostic imaging (ultrasound) major; Macy Moyers a biology major with a minor in chemistry; and Shelby Wiesner is a sociology major, all of Great Bend.
