Hammet to speak at Women for Kansas meet-up

Women for Kansas - Barton County will feature speaker Davis Hammet at its meet-up set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Barton Community College Fine Arts Auditorium, 245 NE 30 Road.

Hammet is president of Loud Light, a Topeka-based organization focused on increasing civic engagement of millennials and combatting voter suppression. Hammet will focus on the divide between people, politicians and policy that negatively impacts social communities not typically civically engaged, millennial engagement and why public policy often differs from politicians’ campaign promises.

Known for his international work through Planting Peace, Hammit is also the co-creator of the rainbow-colored Equality House across from the Westboro Baptist Church hate group.
