Historical Society to host volunteer orientation
Summer hours start Friday, April 8
Historical Village

The Barton County Historical Museum and Village will conduct its annual Orientation Meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Village south of the Arkansas River bridge on U.S. 281. The meeting is for anyone in Barton County who seeks information about volunteer service at the museum. This meeting will help volunteers, new or returning, to become acquainted with life at the Village and to learn more about the new happenings and the many new displays at the museum, said Karen Naylor, volunteer coordinator.
The meeting will feature a short orientation and information about past and current happenings at the museum. Refreshment will be served.
Those persons who are interested in becoming a volunteer – and those who just want to learn more about the Village – are invited to attend the orientation without obligation, Naylor said. For more information call the Historical Village office, 793-5125, or call Naylor, 793-6394.

Spring/summer hours
The Museum and Village will change to summer hours beginning Friday, April 8. The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The Village is closed on Mondays. Winter hours will resume in November.
