Hoisington Debate fourth at Sacred Heart

HOISINGTON  — Hoisington High School debaters Tyler Reif and Trevan Brown placed eighth out of 18 teams in the novice division at the Sacred Heart debate tournament in Salina recently. 

In addition to Tyler Reif and Trevan Brown in the novice division, Payton Dykes, Garrett Dykes, Samantha Colson, and Audrie Harms competed in the open division.  Victoria Luttrell was an alternate.

In the school sweepstakes, the Cardinals placed fourth out of 11 schools with wins over Moundridge, Hays, Lyons, McPherson, and three Salina-Central teams.    

Payton Dykes and Garrett Dykes, based on their record at four tournaments, have now qualified for Two-Speaker State Debate in Fort Scott in January.
