Hoisington Forensics attends Sterling College workshop

HOISINGTON — Several members of the Hoisington High School forensics team traveled to Sterling College on Monday, March 9, to attend a drama and forensics workshop. Students participated in a variety of classes relating to forensics and drama. After the classes came lunch at the Student Union, and then the Sterling College Drama Department presentation of the play “Fences.” 

Jaydynn Andereck, Trevan Brown, Isaac Burgess, Lukas Fox, Hayden Gardner Max Gray, Gibby Hipp, Heavin Hipp, Karen Lovett, Victoria Luttrell, Braxton Nicholas, Miquala Purscell, Tyler Reif, and Jayla Wyant participated.

In earlier action at Western Plains in Ransom on Saturday, Feb. 22, Karen Lovett placed fourth in humorous solo acting and qualified for State. Victoria Luttrell placed seventh in informative speaking. Trevan Brown, Braxton Nicholas, Isaac Burgess, Gabriel Hipp, and Cody Hoffman completed the team effort.

On Saturday, March 7, the team hosted the Garrett Blase Memorial Forensics Tournament. Jayla Wyant and Elliott Copp volunteered to compete in foreign topic extemporaneous speaking to make sure enough students entered that event. Jayla placed fourth and Elliott placed sixth.
