Hoisington Library adds HHS yearbooks to website
The Cardinal Catalog
Cardinal Catalog.jpg

I’m very excited to announce that we have added Hoisington High School yearbooks, Cardinal Corridors to our website, https://hoisingtonpl.weebly.com/. I am working to add any missing years.

The yearbooks were digitized by a work-prison program in Oklahoma at a very reasonable cost. They did an excellent job and the PDFs are searchable.

We had over 4,000 views of the Facebook post about the yearbooks. Several alumni messaged me with thanks for the project because they can now search for former friends and fond memories.

We have new books at the library. A few of them are:

“Queen’s Secret.” Karen Harper. As the wife of the King George VI and the mother of the future queen, Elizabeth, shows a warm, smiling face to the world. But it’s no surprise that Hitler himself calls her the “Most Dangerous Woman in Europe.” For behind that soft voice and kindly demeanor is a will of steel. Two years earlier, George was thrust onto the throne when his brother Edward abdicated, determined to marry his divorced, American mistress Mrs. Simpson.

Vowing to do whatever it takes to make her husband’s reign a success, Elizabeth endears herself to the British people, and prevents the former king from ever again setting foot in Buckingham Palace. She’s also hiding damaging secrets about her past and her provenance that could prove to be her undoing.

“The Persuasion.” Iris Johansen. Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan and ex-Navy Seal Joe Quinn are about to give Seth Caleb their trust for the most important duty of his life: keeping their daughter, Jane, safe at any cost. Because Jane’s talent as an artist has brought her to the attention of a madman. As Jane and Seth come face-to-face with danger, one thing is made clear: it will take both of them working together to confront and defeat this evil.

“Daddy’s Girls.” Danielle Steele. Inheriting a California ranch upon their single father’s sudden death, three sisters evaluate their very different childhoods while uncovering paradigm-shifting secrets about their father’s identity that strengthen their bond with each other. By the best-selling author of The Wedding Dress.

“Hush.” James Patterson. An imprisoned ex-cop seeking justice for her brother’s murder is offered her freedom in exchange for helping the deputy police commissioner who put her away rescue his missing daughter and grandchild. Co-written by the author of Kiss the Girls.

“The End of Mental Illness.” Daniel Amen. The brain specialist and best-selling co-author of Stones of Remembrance challenges enduring stigmas that prevent people from receiving appropriate care for psychological health, outlining rehabilitative lifestyle tips while counseling readers on the drawbacks of today’s treatments.

We have also added many new YA/Fantasy series including, the “Red Queen Series” by Victoria Aveyard, “The Darkest Minds” by Alexandra Bracken, and “The Mortal Instrument” by Cassandra Clare.
