Coronado Quivira Museum is seeking items for its next exhibit, Hometown Teams in Rice County, which is scheduled to open Feb. 8th. Balls, uniforms, trophies, banners, mascots, stories of rival teams, royalty dresses or suits, and sponsorship advertisements of games are needed. The sports which will be featured include football, baseball, basketball, swimming, volleyball and any other sport which generates enthusiasm among local residents. Since sports royalty will be included, photographs of past and current queens, princesses, and kings are especially needed. All loans will be returned at the close of the exhibit.
The exhibit’s objective is show how hometown sports shape our lives and unite us. The essential qualities of sports, such as competition, fair play, and the zeal to win, embody the American spirit. The exhibit will run from Feb. 8 to July 31,  at the Coronado Quivira Museum, 105 West Lyon, Lyons. Call (620) 257-3941 for additional details.
