IT’S FAIR TIME! Barton County Fair starts Wednesday

It’s time to “Hear the Sounds” of the Barton County Fair, which gets in full swing Wednesday morning.

Setup for the fair began in earnest Tuesday evening at the Expo Complex.

Here is the schedule for the next three days of the fair:


Wednesday, July 6

8 a.m. to noon - Check in all 4-H and open class exhibits (except perishables)

8:30 a.m. - Judging of 4-H Foods; 4-H Food Sale after judging

10:30 a.m. - 4-H Arts & Crafts judging

noon - Cloverbuds & 4-H Banner judging (Expo II)

2 p.m. - 4-H Rabbit Show (Expo III)

4 p.m. - 4-H Poultry Show (Expo III)

6-7 p.m. - Late Check-in of Open Class exhibits (except food, crops and horticulture)

6 p.m. - Mandatory Livestock Meeting (Expo III)

6:30 p.m. - 4-H Youth Rally (Expo III)


Thursday, July 7

7:30 a.m. - Business Appreciation Breakfast / Chamber Coffee (Expo II)

9 a.m. - Be Well Barton County Health Fair (Free Stage)

8-9:30 a.m. - Check-in Open Foods, Open and 4-H Horticulture (Gardening and Flowers), Open and 4-H Crops

9 a.m. - 4-H Swine Show (Aaron’s Repair Arena)

10 a.m. - Judging of Open Foods, Open and 4-H Horticulture (Gardening and Flowers) Clothing, and Quilts, Open Arts and Crafts (Expo II)

11 a.m. - Judging of Open Photography and Rocketry

1 p.m. - Judging of 4-H Project Display, Notebooks and Posters, Photography, Reading, Home Environment, Self-Determined, Wildlife, Rocketry, Energy Management, Entomology, Geology and Forestry and Open and 4-H Crops (Expo II)

2 p.m. - Judging of Open and 4-H Woodworking, Judging of Open and 4-H Ag Mechanics (Expo II)

3 p.m. - 4-H Horse Halter Classes (Expo III)

5-10 p.m. - Commercial Exhibits Open (Expo I)

6 p.m. - 4-H Bucket Calf Show (Expo III)

6 p.m. - Family Fun Night Carnival Games

6-8 p.m. - Free Stage Entertainment (Expo II)

8 p.m. - Free Christian Concert – Stars Go Dim (Farmers Bank and Trust Stage)


Friday, July 8

8 a.m. - 4-H Dairy Goat Show (Aaron’s Repair Arena)

9 a.m. - 4-H Meat Goat Show (Aaron’s Repair Arena)

11 a.m. - 4-H Sheep Show (Aaron’s Repair Arena)

5 p.m. - 4-H Beef Show (Aaron’s Repair Arena)

5-10 p.m. - Commercial Exhibits Open (Expo I)

6 - 9:30 p.m. - Axe Throwing Event (Commons Area)

6 p.m. - Family Fun Night Carnival Games

6 p.m. - Belt Sander Drag Races TEST and TUNE (Outside Beer Garden)

6:30 p.m. - Fashion Show presented by Barton County 4-H -Free Stage (Expo II)

7 p.m. - Belt Sander Drag Races (Outside Beer Garden)

8 p.m. - Country Concert – Tate Stevens with Special Guest Jadynce Schroeder  (Farmers Bank and Trust Stage)
