Resurfacing will begin soon on K-14 in Rice County.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves a milling and hot-mix-asphalt overlay on K-14 from about a quarter of a mile north of Avenue T to the south city limits of Lyons. The length is about 6 miles.

The work is expected to begin around July 24 and be completed around mid-August, with the work beginning north of Avenue T.

During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to slow down and stop and expect up to a 15-minute delay.

Venture Corp., of Great Bend, is the primary contractor for the $1,857,293 project.
