KDOT announces approved February bids

The Kansas Department of Transportation approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects in Kansas. The letting took place Feb. 21 in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.


Venture Corporation of Great Bend has been awarded two projects near Norton in northwest Kansas. One project, for $775,752.50, is for milling and overlay along K-383, from the east U.S. 36/K-383 junction northeast to the Phillips/Norton county line. The second, also near Norton for $307,234.25, is for an additional 4.3 miles of milling and overlay. That project is along K-60, from the U.S. 36/K-60 junction north to the K-60/K-383 junction.


Venture was also awarded a guard fence project in Kiowa County. The bid for $424,644.60 is for 13.4 miles of guard fencing at various locations along U.S. 54 from the Ford/Kiowa county line east to the U.S. 183 junction.

Barton - K-156, from the east U.S. 56/K-156 junction northeast to the Barton/Ellsworth county line, crack repair, 17.2 miles, Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson, $36,235.30.
Butler - U.S. 400, approximately 4.4 miles west of the Butler/Greenwood county line, guard fence, 1.2 miles, J & J Contractors Inc., Iola, $68,595.
Butler - U.S. 54, two locations 3.8 and 4.8 miles north of U.S. 400, guard fence, J & J Contractors Inc., Iola, $87,179.25.
Pawnee - K-156, from the U.S. 183/K-156 junction east to the west city limits of Larned and K 264, from the K 156/K-264 junction south to the State Hospital (Entire Route), crack repair, 12.1 miles, Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson, $48,785.15.
Pratt - U.S. 54, from the U.S. 54/K-61 junction east 4.5 miles to the concrete pavement, sealing, 4.5 miles, Heft and Sons LLC, Greensburg, $205,803.30.
Reno - U.S. 50, from the 4-lane/2-lane divide east to the Reno/Harvey county line, crack repair, 19.8 miles, Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson, $117,976.95.
Statewide - K-2, from the south U.S. 160/K-2 junction north 5.9 miles, and U.S. 160, from the east city limits of Wellington east to the Sumner/Cowley county line and from the Sumner/Cowley county line east to the west city limits of Winfield, crack repair, 26.2 miles, Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson, $128,180.90.
Statewide - K-55, from the U.S. 81/K-55 junction east to the Sumner/Cowley county line and from the Sumner/Cowley county line east to the K-15/K-55 junction, crack repair, 12 miles, Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson, $34,723.47
Statewide - K-42, from the K-42/U.S. 281 junction east and south to the Pratt/Barber county line, from the Pratt/Barber county line east to the Barber/Kingman county line and from the Barber/Kingman county line east to the K-42/K-14 junction, crack repair, 37.6 miles, Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson, $86,853.14.
