Judge Hannelore Kitts greets guests at her retirement reception, Friday in a courtroom at the Barton County Courthouse. Kitts has served as a 20th Judicial District Judge for 17 years, since her appointment by Gov. Bill Graves in 1995. Before that, she was an attorney from 1984-95. Kitts said her plans for retirement are to travel and spend more time with her children — “Just what every retired person does.”
