Parents are invited to bring their preschoolers to the Kansas Wetlands Education Center for the Turtle Tot Club, a nature-based program developed for children ages 3 to 5. In celebration of Thanksgiving, children will investigate turkeys with “Turkey Tales” from 10:30-11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18. After the hear a turkey adventure book, tots will deconstruct a turkey, make a turkey craft, play pin the beard on the turkey and conduct a couple of simple experiments. If weather cooperates, they’ll go outside and look for turkey food.

The one-hour Turtle Tot Club programs, offered at no charge, introduce young children to the natural world around them with sensory experiences, while reinforcing colors, shapes, math and fine motor skills. When possible, sessions include outdoor time.

There is a minimum enrollment of six and a maximum of 12 children. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver and pre-registration is required by Nov. 14. To register or for more information, call 620-566-1456 or the toll-free number, 877-243-9268.
