The Barton County Landfill anticipates being closed Saturday April 23, due to forecasted high winds. Barton County Resolution 2009-06 allows the landfill to close if winds are forecasted to be greater than 40 mph, or a high wind warning is issued by the national weather service. While this is an inconvenience, it is necessary to prevent blowing litter from the landfill.
