LARNED — The Fort Larned Lions Club’s annual Christmas In July food drive will be held Saturday, July 3, at the Larned Dillons store from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Club president Steven Lewis said the food drive impacts families in need living in Pawnee County. This project is a major part of the Christmas basket project that the Fort Larned Lions Club has implemented since 1974. The Christmas In July food drive collects selected food items to help support 85-100 families and individuals each year.

“I have seen the impact this project has on so many adults and children in our area,” Lewis said. “I know it is worth all the effort it takes to make this project a success each year.”

The Christmas In July food drive is an opportunity for people to help others in this difficult time. Those who donate food items this Saturday will receive a gift as a thank you for their efforts. Donate six items and receive an American Flag or donate seven-plus items and be entered into a drawing for one of five $100 Dillons gift cards.
