Friends of the Great Bend Public Library will be holding their annual Used Book Sale the third week in October. Donations of books to the sale from the public will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 30. The library is located at 1409 Williams in Great Bend. Donated books can be brought to the library’s service entrance off Stone Street or to the circulation desk.

The book sale will be open to the public Oct. 17-19. Prices range from 50 cents for paperbacks to $1 for hardbacks.

Members of the Friends of the Public Library will have "early bird" access to the books on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 15, from 1- 5 p.m. Friends’ memberships cost $10 and refreshments will be available during those hours.

Carol Woodmansee, publicity chairman, said members of the Friends group will be working the sale. "The book sale is only one of a number ways library patrons who wish to be a Friend of the Library can help support and promote the library in our community. The new officers are excited about a number of project ideas and opportunities and are looking for patrons with varying interests and abilities to help strengthen our library’s visibility in the community."

Members of the community are invited and welcome to participate in the sale either as members of Friends or as patrons of the library.
