Library announces summer events for adults

The following programs will be offered at the Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., for adults 18 years of age and older (unless otherwise noted).

June 30 – Tech Tuesday: “How to Google” at 3 p.m. Registration is required.
July 1 – Food for Thought Book Club, at noon, discussing, “The Night Circus.” All ages encouraged to attend.
July 2 (and every Thursday) – Magic the Gathering at 5 p.m. in the Kansas Room. Casual game play, for those 16 and older only. Sign in at the Welcome Desk.  
July 7 – Tech Tuesday at 3 p.m. “Goodreads 101.” Registration is required.
July 8 – Movie: “Field of Dreams,” at noon. All ages welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Rated PG-13. This event is sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council and the Hometown Teams.
July 8 – Writers Corner at 5 p.m.
July 9 – Adults Night Out Craft: Decorative Mugs, at 6 p.m. Registration is required.
July 10 – Adults Night Out Movie: “Unbroken,” at 7 p.m. North doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and close at 7:10 p.m.
July 14 – Tech Tuesday: “Facebook 101” at 3 p.m. Register online or in the library.
July 15 – Reading Bingo Cards due back in the library by 6 p.m.
July 16 – Henna, at  6 p.m. Temporary body art should last at least a week and participants can design their own or have one applied by staff. Registration is required.
July 18 – Adult Crafternoon: Washi Photo Frame, at 2 p.m. Cover up a photo frame with Washi tape. Registration is required.
July 21 – Tech Tuesday: “Pinterest 101” at  3 p.m. Those who set up an account during the class will need their email address and password for confirmation. Registration is required.
July 22 – Writers Corner at 5 p.m.
July 23 – Open Book Club: “Our Boys,” at 7 p.m., with special guest Dr. Kim Stanley. Open to all ages.
July 25 – Adults Night Out Movie: “The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies,” at 7 p.m.
 July 28 – Tech Tuesday: “How 2 Google” at  3 p.m. Registration required. Learn about Google Plus, Google Drive, Gmail, and Calendar.
July 30 – “Planning Your Funeral,” at  6 p.m. Charter Funerals Director Terry Lewis will guide attendees in what to do in advance and how to make decisions to alleviate stress for loved ones. Light refreshments will be provided.
