Summer hours are in effect. The library, located at 1409 Williams St., is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday.
Young Adult Librarian and Marketing Director Jennifer King said sign-up for story time begins Friday, June 1. “There are two different options to choose from. For children 18 months and older parents will have the choice of attending Tuesday or Friday from 10:15-11 a.m. Baby and Me Story Time is offered on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. and is for children birth to 18 months.”
Dan Dan the Magic Man will present his new show, “Dream Big! Read!” at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11. This free program is sponsored by the Friends of Great Bend Public Library and is for all ages. Audience members will also be able to sign up for the summer reading program and start reading books that day.
The Friends of the Great Bend Public Library will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7. This is a change from the regular meeting, due to the summer library hours. The public is invited to join and support the library. Membership is $10 for an individual or $20 for a family.
