Library plans food fight, game day for teens

 The final days of Great Bend Public Library’s Summer Reading Program are under way.
Upcoming events include:
• Teen Movie Monday - 3 p.m. Monday, July 15. All teen activities are open to all students in grades 7-12
• Teen Game Day - 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 16. Come challenge the reigning champ to Super Smash Bros. Brawl or bust a move with Just Dance. The library also has board games and card games.
• Exploration Place program - 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. A fun-filled program on dinosaurs and fossils, sponsored by the Great Bend Noon Kiwanis. For the entire family.
• Teen Spot Craft: CD Scratch Art - 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.
• Food Fight - 3 p.m. Friday, July 19, for teens registered in the Beneath the Surface summer library program. There are a few guidelines to participate, said Jennifer King said, YA librarian and marketing director. “The mashed potatoes will be flying so wear something you can get messy and cover your car seats in trash bags.”
• Children’s Department Summer Reading Final Party - 2-4 p.m. (come-and-go) Saturday, July 20. There will be food and prizes. All prize winners will be contacted.
• Teen Spot Beneath the Surface Summer Library Program wrap-up party - 3 p.m.  Saturday, July 20. Stop by for games, food and prizes.
