A Great Bend man faces theft and other charges after he was arrested Tuesday morning by officers from the Great Bend Police Department, according to a GBPD news release.

At about 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, GBPD officers responded to the area of Lakin Avenue and Van Buren in Great Bend in reference to an unknown subject entering vehicles without permission. While officers were responding to the area, the subject, identified as Jericho Riddle, 20, fled the area on foot.

Officers stopped Riddle on the west side of the Travelodge Hotel at room 105 located in the 3200 block of 10th Street. He was found to be in possession of stolen property and detained.

The motel room was secured and GBPD detectives obtained a search warrant for Riddle’s room. The search warrant was executed and items of evidence were located and seized.

Riddle was arrested on charges of burglary and criminal trespass and transported to the Barton County Detention Center and booked in lieu of bond.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information in reference to this case is urged to contact the Great Bend Police Department at 620-793-4120 or Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300.
