HOISINGTON — On Saturday, March 2, the Hoisington Middle School Robotics team competed at the Kansas State VEX IQ Robotics Competition Championships hosted by Garden City High School. HMS was victorious and won the right to advance to the next level – the World Championships.

There were 22 teams from all over Kansas competing for one slot to advance at the VEX World Championships.

HMS will be among 800 teams from around the world competing May 1-3 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.

“I am so proud of my robotics students again this year,” HMS robotics coach Augustes Anders said.

Seven of the eight HMS robotics teams qualified for the state tournament. This year marks the fourth year that HMS Robotics will go to World Championships of the five years the club has been active.
