The results are in for the Tuesday general election. On ballots were city elected officials (mayors and council members), school boards, Barton Community College trustees, Ellinwood Hospital District trustees and Cottonwood Extension District Number 17, according to Barton County Clerk’s Office.
The totals, reported by the Clerk’s Office, are unofficial. They won’t be official until the ballots are canvassed by the Barton County Commission, meeting as the Board of Canvassers, at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Clerk’s Office.
If the results don’t change after the ballots are canvassed next week, there will be a coin flip to decide the winner for Mayor of Olmitz. Curtis Peterson and John Suchy each received two write-in votes.
A total of 2,756 ballots were cast in advance or on election day.
