LARNED — Pawnee Valley Community Hospital will host a new free monthly Diabetes Education Class beginning from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 1 at the hospital, 923 Carroll.
Participants are asked to register by Tuesday, May 31,  by calling (785) 623-5503 or (785) 623-2377.
Diabetes educators and registered dieticians will present general information on diabetes, meter use, medications, treating hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, foot care, meal planning and carb counting.
PVCH Administrator Matt Heyn said the class is being offered as a community service to the Pawnee County area.
“Dr. David Sanger of Pawnee Valley Medical Associates saw a need for more education in the diagnosis, treatment and care for diabetic patients and their families,” Heyn said. “Through his efforts, we will now offer these classes on a monthly basis the first Wednesday morning of each month here at the hospital.”
