LARNED — The Pawnee County commission will hear updates on the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital during Monday’s meeting at the Pawnee County Courthouse.

10 a.m. — Robert Mitchell, Central Kansas local environmental planning group.
10:30 a.m. — Matt Heyn, PVCH administrator; Brenda Langdon, PVCH ground-breaking committee.

Quilting Bees meet

LARNED -- Members of the guild met Tuesday in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church.  In the absence of the president, Diann Morell chaired the meeting. 
Announcements included the meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 for the presentation of Pat Knoechel of Fons and Porter.  Members are asked to meet at the church at 6 p.m. to carpool to Great Bend with the meeting to be held at the First Presbyterian Church. The Halloween fat quarter drawing was postponed until the next regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Members were reminded to complete their purse/bag projects for the dinner and auction for the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund.  Tickets for the dinner are $10 and available at Scraps.  The event is open to the public and planned for Oct. 24 at the church.  Guild members should give completed projects to Alice Clapsaddle by Friday, Sept. 23.
