Health Fair Thursday

LARNED — The Larned Community Health Fair is scheduled from 6:30 until 9 a.m. Thursday at the First State Bank in Larned.
Please use the south entrance. Registration on the day of the Health Fair only. For more information, please contact Pawnee Valley Community Hospital (620) 285-6499.

Prayer set Thursday

LARNED — The National Day of Prayer service is scheduled to start at noon Thursday at Glory Be, 7th and Broadway in Larned.

Cooking show Thursday

LARNED — The Taste of Home Cooking School, sponsored by The Tiller and Toiler, is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday.
 You may purchase tickets at The Tiller office or by phone with credit card.  Tickets will also be available day of the event at The Tiller’s booth, from 3 p.m. until doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased by 6:30 p.m.

Beta Sigma Phi meets

LARNED — Tina McClendon and the Kappa Psi chapter welcomed members of the three sorority chapters to the annual Founder’s Day on April 30 at Grumpy’s,  located at the Larned golf course.  
Following dinner, a short program was conducted.  The three presidents Linda Haynes, Alice Clapsaddle and Tina McClendon presented short reviews on this year’s theme “Building Traditions through the Future.”  
Each president was presented a scrapbook made by the individual chapter.  Girls of the Year were awarded to: Carol Jacobs, Alpha Kappa Master; Linda Haynes, Laureate Beta Nu, and Jamie Wagner, Kappa Psi.
Jennifer McNett announced the 2012-2013 theme, “You’re Among Friends.”
A few lucky winners were presented door prizes of a yellow rose bud vase.  During the social hour, guests were treated to viewing past scrapbooks.  Alpha Kappa Master will host next year’s Founder’s Day.
