Quilting Bees meet

LARNED – Colleen Wolf welcomed master quilter Susan Gray of Radium who presented an hour long presentation  and demonstration on quilting patterns and examples July 1.  Gray who is a member of Threadbenders in Great Bend has a plethora of quilting ideas.
Patterns and quilted items were Variations of patriotic pinwheels including blocks, table topper and tote bag; Zipper quilt top: Disappearing Four-Patch quilt top; Disappearing Pinwheel;  Disappearing Hour Glass, Charm Tote Bag; Floating Nine Patch and variations; Churn Dash using multiple colored pinwheels in same block; Dresden Plate tote bag; and additional ideas.
A thank you note was read from Melinda Axman. A workday is scheduled at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 12.  The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, July 15 with sewing beginning at 5 p.m. and a meeting at 7 p.m. Members are encouraged to bring a red fat quarter for the drawing.
The Pawnee County Fair will be on Thursday, July 24 with check in time for Open Class at 11 a.m.  The public and members are encouraged to enter their quilted items for judging.  All are welcome.
