LARNED — Colleen Wolf welcomed members of the Larned Quilting Bees guild to the Aug. 4 meeting at the Presbyterian Church of Larned.
A thank you note was read from Elaine Voos of Russell who won the Grand Champion Quilt at the Pawnee County Fair.
Ann Hicks distributed a quilt word search to those members who wanted it.
Thank you goes to Richard Wolf for the donation of several bolts of fabric to be used for the prayer quilt ministry.
In addition, the Larned Adventist Church has donated fabric for the prayer quilt ministry.
Gayle Fanshier demonstrated the first star from the book, All Stars Quilts by Eleanor Burns.
The Aug. 18 meeting will be a demonstration of the second star. The raffle of 10-inch quilt blocks and pattern will be given by Mary Weber.
Show and Tell participants were Sue Southam, finished UFO strip quilt with hand quilting; Alice Clapsaddle, school house appliquéed block; Diane Schultz, Quilt of Valor in red, white, and blue using the recent mystery quilt pattern; Rita Schaller, maple leaf candle mat in fall colors; Colleen Wolf, school house candle mat, wool applique candle mat and a Grab & Go candle mat with pre-cut fabric patterns.
Members and guests are asked to bring their projects for review. The guild is always happy to showcase new and old projects. For information call 620-285-2822.
